Advocacy must never compromise the wellbeing of the veteran.
All advocates are trained in Trauma-Informed Care principles to ensure our services:
- Promote emotional and physical safety
- Build trust through transparency
- Restore choice and control to the veteran
- Avoid practices that may cause re-traumatisation

All Veteran Life advocates maintain professional accreditation and operate under appropriate supervision requirements.
These safeguards ensure consistency, accountability and professional competence.
This includes:

- Participating in mandatory Continuing Professional Development annually
- Operating within their accredited scope of practice
- Ensuring Level 1 advocates work under supervision of Level 2 or Level 3 advocates
